Alan J. Sholomskas, M.D.

Alan J. Sholomskas, M.D., F.A.P.A., D, A.B.S.M. is board-certified in Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, and Sleep Medicine. A graduate of the Yale University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry, he holds the position of Lecturer. He is a Diplomate and Fellow of The American Sleep Disorders Association and a Distinguished Fellow and Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He attends at Yale-New Haven Hospital and at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven. He served as Medical director of The New Haven Sleep Disorder Center and as an attending physician at Gaylord Hospital Sleep Services. He consults to long-term care facilities and has served as Medical Director of the Medical-Psychiatric Unit at Masonic Home and Hospital in Wallingford. He consulted to the Yale Depression Research Unit in pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy outcome research. He teaches psychiatric residents and has lectured widely to physicians and other health professionals. He has published in his specialty areas and was featured in the New York Times for his geriatrics work. He maintains a private practice in New Haven and Fairfield County specializing in psychopharmacology, anxiety and mood disorders, ADHD, geriatric mental health, and sleep disorders.
